As a homeowner, discovering that you have a plumbing issue can instantly stop your day in its tracks. Whether it is a clogged drain, a leaking water heater, or low water pressure, it helps to know a reliable local plumber in your own community. Someone who will show up, diagnose the plumbing problem, and explain what is happening without pressure or confusion. Julius Cantrell, co-owner of Evergreen Plumbing & Drains in Centerville, understands how stressful residential plumbing repairs can be and makes it a priority to ease that frustration for Dayton area homeowners.
“We understand that no one wants to call a plumber. Sometimes this can be a very stressful moment for someone. We are there to let them know that they called the right company and we will take care of them,” shares Julius.
Deep Roots in the Dayton and Miami Valley Community
Julius grew up in the Dayton area and has strong roots in the Miami Valley. After meeting his wife, Nicole, they settled in Centerville, where their three children attend school and stay active in sports. Living in the same community he serves has made Evergreen Plumbing & Drains feel like Centerville’s hometown plumbing service and a trusted choice when families need help with plumbing repairs.
As Julius explains, “We serve our neighbors. I love being someone they can trust, finding the right solution, and then seeing them later at a local event where we can appreciate each other.”
How Evergreen Plumbing & Drains Began
Evergreen Plumbing did not start with the goal of becoming another big-name plumbing company. It began with real people, shared experience, and years of hands-on plumbing work. Julius and co-owner Adam Rudy first worked together delivering pizzas, later spent time in a plumbing supply house, and eventually found themselves repairing broken pipes, water heaters, and drain lines in residential homes across the region. Along the way, they met Shawn Bush, a plumber with a strong work ethic and dedication to the trade. Shawn later earned his Master Plumbing License, which helped complete the team and shape the long-term vision of Evergreen Plumbing & Drains.
A Different Approach to Plumbing Service
Working inside larger plumbing companies gave the three owners valuable experience but also revealed what was missing. They saw a need for a plumbing company where service mattered more than quotas and where technicians were trained thoroughly. They wanted homeowners to understand what was being repaired, feel comfortable asking questions, and never worry about being oversold on plumbing work they did not need.
In Julius’ words, “Other companies seemed to focus on sales and train based only on numbers and sales. We are providing a service, and plumbers should be trained on service.”
Built on Culture, Customer, and Community
That vision became Evergreen Plumbing & Drains, a company built around three priorities: culture, customer, and community. Julius Adam and Shawn wanted to create a team where training mattered, where homeowners received clear explanations, and where the business stayed connected to the people and neighborhoods it served in Centerville, Dayton, and throughout the Miami Valley.
The Value of Choosing a Local Plumber
Many homeowners do not realize how different the experience can be when they choose a local plumbing company instead of a large national chain. When someone hires a corporate contractor, much of what they pay often leaves the region entirely. Calls may be routed through outsourced answering services, and the technician sent to the home might be traveling from another county. Income is spent where they live, not where they work, and leadership may never step foot in the communities they serve.
“We want to show homeowners that we care about them, that we are from the same neighborhoods. We want to educate homeowners and be there for them when they need us most,” shares Julius.
Giving Back to the Community

Their commitment to the community is also evident in the way that Evergreen gives back. “We truly want to build the community around us. We feel there is an obligation from small businesses to help those around them,” shares Julius. The team regularly volunteers time to local charities such as Shoes 4 the Shoeless and with the City of Centerville.
What Customers Are Saying
More families in Centerville and Dayton are beginning to see the value in choosing a local plumber who puts service first. Their Google reviews reflect it clearly.
One customer shared, “Ok, I know it sounds weird to think of a plumbing company as awesome, but Evergreen Plumbing is AWESOME. They are a small company that cares about their customers. The owners are actual plumbers themselves, as opposed to a sales person just trying to maximize profits.”
Another homeowner wrote, “In total we have had experience with three of the plumbers and Bailey in the office and all four employees have been nothing but professional, knowledgeable and kind.”
A third review said it best, “I highly recommend the team at Evergreen Plumbing & Drains. They have earned my trust and future business.”
